About the Destination:

The Pontine Islands, located off the coast of Lazio, form an archipelago of six main islands: Ponza, Ventotene, Palmarola, Zannone, Gavi, and Santo Stefano. These islands offer a unique combination of history, with ancient Roman ruins and picturesque villages, and wild nature, with hidden beaches and turquoise waters.   Ponza is the largest and liveliest of the islands, known for its summer nightlife, beaches, and Roman caves. Ventotene, smaller and quieter, is perfect for those seeking history and diving, thanks to its marine reserve and the remains of the ancient Roman port. Palmarola is a true paradise for lovers of wild nature and pristine seas, while Zannone is ideal for trekking and birdwatching. Santo Stefano, on the other hand, is famous for its ancient Bourbon prison, now abandoned but fascinating to explore.
