Ponza
The main inhabited center of the island is perched on the small port, full of restaurants and lively clubs in every season. Immediately north of the town we find the sandy seabed of the Frontone, the most popular beach on the island. Continuing along the eastern side, Cala dell'Arco stands out, in which the imposing holey stack that gives it its name towers. In the western part, the famous Chiaia di Luna opens up, which with a white cliff overlooking the sea offers dreamy sunsets. A little further north we land under the wild Faraglioni of Lucia Rosa. Finally, a dip in Cala di Feola is a must, which is home to splendid natural pools with crystal clear water.
Palmarola
A few miles further west stands the island of Palmarola, totally uninhabited except for Villa Fendi and characteristic cave houses still used today by some people from Ponza in the summer. Cala Brigantina is undoubtedly one of the most spectacular anchorages in Italy, with the very high white cliff that contrasts with the turquoise water. In the northern part we anchor the catamaran under the Cathedral, so called due to the particular shapes of the rocks that recall Gothic spiers, a breathtaking scenery. We can spend the night at anchor in Cala del Porto and dine with our feet in the sand in front of a breathtaking sunset at O' Francese, the only restaurant on the island.
Zannone e Ventotene
The other two islands of the archipelago are Zannone, home only to the solitary lighthouse and an abandoned villa, for a swim away from civilization, and Ventotene, where the sailing boat is moored in the incredible Roman port dug into the tuff, still today a true engineering masterpiece. Here we will discover an island with a placid character, where the echoes of history that can be felt in every little square offer a refuge from the hustle and bustle of frenetic modern life.
