The prices listed on Barcando are defined by the charter companies that are our partners in our booking system.

We distinguish:

Rental/Charter Costs: These include the boat and all electronic, safety, and other equipment provided by the charter companies.
These costs also cover assistance from the owner during the cruise period.

Mandatory Costs: Also known as compulsory extras, these are the costs the customer must pay at the base during check-in, before departure. These are set at the discretion of the charter company. A typical mandatory cost is the final cleaning.

Non-Mandatory Costs: These are "optional" or "extra" services requested by the customer. They represent an additional charge that is added to the rental/charter cost. Extra charges are usually paid at the base during check-in (e.g., skipper, outboard motor, sheets, SUP, etc.). See the list on each boat's page.

The rates do not include: fuel, provisions, transport and transfer costs to the base, port or anchorage fees, tourist taxes. The items not included in the price may vary by charter company. We recommend consulting your Barcando contact.

The rental/charter costs (boat cost) listed under the "price" section are paid in advance in two installments: 50% at the time of booking and the remaining 50% 40 days before departure.
These terms are indicative, as they are set at the discretion of the charter companies. If the departure date is within 30 days, the full amount must be paid at the time of booking.

Mandatory and optional extras are usually paid at the base during check-in. Some charter companies require their payment at the time of booking.

The quotes always specify everything in detail.

The deposit is a security for any damages during the cruise. The deposit is made at check-in via credit card. The release is usually done at check-out after the boat inspection.

A boating license is always required for renting a boat. This certification, which is also necessary for small vessels, is essential for insurance purposes. However, the requirement for boating licenses (Patenti) varies from country to country.

For example, when renting abroad, Italian citizens with a boating license may be asked for a special certification. In France, the boating license must be accompanied by a complete nautical CV listing sailing experiences, while in Croatia, a VHF certificate is mandatory.

In short, we recommend that you check the requirements before making your charter reservation. Barcando can verify the documentation required by the charter company in the country of your choice for your upcoming charter.

These are set at the discretion of the charter companies.

Typically, in the Mediterranean, check-ins are done on Saturday afternoon. The customers of the previous charter usually disembark on Saturday morning, and the boat must be prepared for the next check-in.

The return is usually expected the evening before disembarkation.

In Barcando's booking system, you will only find professional owners, meaning pre-selected charter companies (this term refers to companies that are accredited and included in the most important booking systems).

Our job is to select, among the charter companies operating in the nautical charter industry, the owners who meet our quality criteria and who are committed to ensuring the services advertised through our booking system.

In Barcando's system, only boats from accredited charter companies are listed, meaning they are present and operating in booking manager systems. The Barcando team visits the bases and fleets of our partner owners, but most importantly, we trust customer feedback.

For Barcando, it is the feedback from previous clients that ensures a transparent and informed choice for new customers. In fact, at the end of their vacation, we invite our clients to complete a survey to evaluate the services provided by the owners and their alignment with the advertised offerings. Barcando wants to ensure a conscious and transparent choice. With us, you can book the boat that's perfect for you.

All boats offered by Barcando are covered by the insurance required by law. The presence of insurance does not exclude the customer's obligation to provide a security deposit.

If you are interested in confirming a quote, the first thing to do is to inform your Barcando contact, who will place an option on the boat. The option is free and allows you to keep the quote on "stand by" for a few days. Before the option expires, you can confirm the boat either online or through your Barcando operator.

The boat is considered booked only after the deposit has been paid (via card, PayPal, or bank transfer). The deposit is typically 50% of the rental price. You will be required to pay the full 100% if the rental period is approaching, i.e., if the departure is within one month of the booking date. In other cases, the balance is paid directly to the charter company, usually one month before boarding.

Extras are usually paid at the base, according to the terms and conditions set by the Owner.

The rental/charter contract will be signed with the Charter Company. Barcando will be responsible for sending the necessary documentation to the Client to finalize the contract for your next nautical charter. The contract will usually be in the language of the Charter Company. For example, Italian charter companies will send you a contract in Italian, while foreign owners typically prepare the contract in English.

If you would like an Skipper or Hostess, it is best to inform your Barcando contact. Skippers and Hostesses are chosen by the Charter Companies. If you have any specific needs regarding the Skipper or Hostess, don't hesitate to let us know. The Skipper is responsible for navigation and safety on board, while the Hostess takes care of the order, cleanliness of the boat, and will cook for you. Both the Skipper and Hostess sleep on board and will share the provisions with you.

The costs for the Skipper and Hostess vary and are indicated in the quotes for each boat.

If you require an Skipper or Hostess, you will also need to provide their provisions. Don't forget, the Skipper and Hostess are part of your Crew!

Each country follows its own rules regarding Skippers and Hostesses. For example, in Italy, these roles do not actually exist and are not regulated by law for recreational boats. Charter companies typically only recommend an Skipper, and ultimately, it will be the person signing the rental contract who will hire them.

In any case, Barcando is not responsible for the Skippers, Hostesses, or the performance of their work. Barcando only offers a wide range of boats and services.

Charters usually have a minimum duration of one week (from Saturday to Saturday). It is rare for Charter Companies to offer weekend or mid-week charters, except for last-minute deals. Many last-minute offers are not advertised on the website. If you want to access promotions and offers, consult a Barcando contact. They will assist you by checking dates and availability.

You can arrange a transfer with the Transfer Companies that collaborate with the Charter Company. Usually, the transfer is an extra cost. Further details are provided upon request. The payment for the transfer is made on-site.

You will define the desired itinerary. If you request a Skipper, you can agree on the itinerary with them, as they know the area and the best bays! However, if you need advice, feel free to contact a Barcando representative. The itinerary is subject to changes due to weather and wind conditions.
